“back in Bob”
This year’s Swampswimmer will be in Bobcaygeon and there will be a few differences.
This year the objective of Swampswimmer will be to achieve an ideal distance as opposed to past years, where the objective was to maintain an ideal time. The reason for the change is concern over pending federal legislation regarding street racing. While there is no practical way that a time distance speed rally is “racing”, there was concern that the action of timing vehicles could be misinterpreted. Thus, for this year, the timing element has been removed and the rally will be purely navigational.
Penalty points will be determined by the variance in distance covered by your vehicle to the ideal or actual course distance. Accommodations will be made to for individual vehicle odometer error.
Secondly this year the Rally will take place on one day with the awards being held Saturday evening.
The schedule will be as follows:
There will be a maximum of 20 vehicles and the price will be $40 per vehicle, $35 for CO 4x4 Club members.
